LoRa Ethylene Oxide (ETO) Sensor

xiamen ZONEWU This LoRa wireless Ethylene Oxide (ETO) sensor is a wireless IoT device that can collect, monitor, and transmit data. It is equipped with an ethylene oxide sensor and a temperature and humidity sensor, which can monitor the ethylene oxide concentration, temperature, and humidity data in the environment in real time. The sensor uses high-performance epoxy sensor and microprocessor, accurate detection, stable performance, low power consumption, and supports the standard LoRa protocol, which can transmit data over long distances.

Environmental LoRaWAN Ethylene Oxide (ETO) Sensor

xiamen ZONEWU LoRaWAN Ethylene Oxide (ETO) sensor is a wireless IoT sensor for monitoring ethylene oxide (ETO) gas.

xiamen ZoneWu LoRaWAN Gas Sensor ETO Sensor Features:

This is a wireless IoT sensor that is specifically designed to monitor ethylene oxide gas in the environment, and can also simultaneously collect, monitor and transmit temperature and humidity data.

Using LoRa spread spectrum technology, it supports the standard LoRaWAN protocol and can realize ultra-long-distance wireless communication between terminals, with a very wide data transmission coverage.

Built-in high-performance ethylene oxide sensor and microprocessor, combined with temperature and humidity sensor, the detection data is accurate and the processing speed is fast.

The detection accuracy is high, and the detection of ethylene oxide concentration is very accurate; Stable performance, not easily affected by external interference; Low power consumption, energy-saving and durable.

Safety thresholds can be set in advance according to the environmental situation, and once the concentration of ethylene oxide or temperature and humidity data is abnormal, it will actively alarm and remind.

It is suitable for a variety of scenarios, such as air quality monitoring stations, industrial exhaust emission outlets (to monitor whether the emission of ethylene oxide exceeds the standard), indoor environments (such as hospital disinfection areas), transportation hubs, and other places where ethylene oxide needs to be monitored.

Product Applications

1. High precision measurement: This sensor can accurately measure the concentration of ethylene oxide as low as ppm, and the data is very accurate.

2. High sensitivity: the sensor will respond quickly when the environment changes, even if the industrial site situation is complex, it can capture the concentration fluctuation in time.

3. Quick response: The response time is fast, generally less than 150 seconds to react to the change of gas concentration.

4. Wide measurement range: from low concentration to high concentration of ethylene oxide can be measured, and all kinds of environmental monitoring needs can be met.

5. Strong anti-interference ability: can effectively eliminate the interference of hydrogen, ammonia, carbon dioxide, chlorine gas and other gases, and the results are more reliable.

Common knowledge of ETO

What is ethylene oxide (ETO)? What are the characteristics

Ethylene oxide is a colorless, toxic gas with an ether-like odor (stronger odor at high concentrations), flammable and explosive, and easily soluble in water and organic solvents. It is commonly used as an industrial disinfectant (sterilization of medical instruments) and chemical raw material (production of ethylene glycol, pharmaceutical intermediates, etc.), but it is carcinogenic (listed as a Class 1 carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, IARC), and prolonged contact may damage the respiratory system, nervous system, and reproductive system.

What is the safe concentration limit of ethylene oxide in the air

Occupational exposure limit value (PC-TWA, 8-hour workday):

 • Chinese standard: 5 mg/m¹³ (about 2 ppm);

 • U.S. OSHA standard: 1 ppm (time-weighted average concentration).

Short-term exposure hazard value:

 • When the concentration exceeds 50 ppm, it may cause severe headache, vomiting, and pulmonary edema;

 • When it exceeds 1000 pppm, it can quickly lead to coma, respiratory failure, and even death.

What are the main sources of ethylene oxide? Why is it easily overlooked

Industrial scenes: medical device sterilization workshop, chemical synthesis factory, printing and dyeing factory, etc.;

· Daily environment:

 • Instruments sterilized in hospitals may have residual ETO (must be used after ventilation and evaporation);

 • Vehicle exhaust and natural gas combustion will also produce trace amounts.

 • Concealment: The odor is not noticeable at low concentrations (similar to "sweetness" or "ethanol odor"), and human olfaction is easily adapted to it, which may result in prolonged exposure before detection.

What interference factors should be paid attention to when detecting the concentration of ethylene oxide

Other gas interference:

 • Hydrogen gas (H₂), ammonia gas (NH₃), and chlorine gas (Cl₂) may react with the sensor, leading to false alarms;

 • Water vapor (high humidity environment) may dilute ETO concentration or affect sensor performance.

Temperature and pressure:

 • The volatility of ethylene oxide is greatly affected by temperature (the faster it evaporates when the temperature increases), and it needs to be tested in a constant temperature environment;

 • High pressure environments may increase the solubility of gases, leading to lower detection values.
